Frequently asked questions

How long are appointments?

Individual therapy sessions are 45 minutes, couples and family therapy sessions are 60 minutes, and group therapy sessions are 90 minutes.

What should I expect during the first session?

The first session is called an initial evaluation. It is a chance for us to get to know each other and for me to learn about different areas of your life and history. I prioritize helping you feel comfortable speaking with me for the first time and feel ready and safe to share more. I also encourage you to ask me questions about my approach and experience.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider for all insurance plans. Many plans reimburse for individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy, and I will provide you with the paperwork necessary for reimbursement.

Here are important questions to ask your insurance provider to determine your out-of-network coverage:

  • Does my plan include out-of-network coverage for mental health benefits?
  • What is my annual deductible? Is there a separate deductible for mental health benefits?
  • What percentage of the psychotherapy session fee is reimbursed?
  • Is there a session limit for the coverage?
  • How do I file a claim?

Are you offering in-person sessions?

I primarily offer tele-health visits for patients in NY, NJ, FL, and PSYPACT states, which include the following states: AL, AZ, AR, CO, CT, CNMI (Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands), DE, DC, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MN, MS, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NC, OH, OK, PA, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, & WI.

I see a limited number of patients in-person in my office in South Orange, New Jersey.

Is your tele-health platform secure and HIPAA-compliant?

Yes, the platform I use is secure and HIPAA-compliant. You will receive a personalized, protected link prior to each session from the Simple Practice platform.

Are you currently accepting new patients?

Yes! I look forward to hearing from you to set up your appointment. Please click here to contact me.
